My super talented friend L was in town last night to be in Rita Ora’s band..(Jay Z’s new protege) You can just see him right there on keys, behind Rita. He plays the bass too, he is basically a versatile musical genius.
I meanwhile, was at Drom, being ‘taken to church’ by the soulful powerhouse that is Avery Sunshine. To say she was good is an understatement. Watching her reminded me of how I felt when I first saw Jill Scott live. Avery may even be better, she had her sister come on stage too for a number and she blew the roof of as well, the whole family must be blessed with the gift of song lol.
